a little dallas fabric district shopping

My parents were in town visiting this past week.  And since it was their first time visiting us here in Dallas, we packed in alot of stuff!  But of course, one of the first stops I made with my mom was to the fabric district.  I honestly love going there.  I think I'm still just skimming the surface and have only been to a few of the stores but I love going there.  Even if like this last time, I only walk away with 1 yd piece of fabric.  (but that is for a very special and exciting tutorial coming soon!!)  I mean seriously, look at the eye candy.  They had huge bins full of zippers of every different size and style.  Boxes of buttons.  The embellishments, the spools and spools of yummy looking thread, and oh my fabric heaven.  I would love to just have hours to kill by myself enjoying it all.  Maybe thats what I should do while M is at playgroup next Wednesday...

Stupid question - but where is the Dallas Fabric district? I've lived here my whole life and have no idea where it is. Thanks!

Harry Hines! I live right around the corner on Webb Chapel near Forest! Yes it is the best place to go! Amazing stores and warehouses full of fabric and goodies! If you are in the area just down the street on Harry Hines if you like to thrift shop as well they just opened up a new store. First have lunch next door in your car old school style at Kellers Hamburgers! Been there for like 60 years and it looks like it. A bit run down but so yummy! The best onion rings ever. The car hop will come to your car to take your order and they only take cash. Get a root beer, burger and onion rings (they have tots as well) then when your done go next door to THRIFT GIANT. They have a sale ticket every day and some days 3 sale tickets. They have dressing rooms which is nice! Also if you go down Harry Hines towards NW Highway cross over Webb Chapel there is a Salvation Army on your right not far at all. Lots to do! Smiles!
